“Traditionnnn! Tradition!” goes the famous Broadway song from Meerkats on the Roof Fiddler on the Roof. It turns out that meerkats have their own traditions quite aside from the ones immigrant meerkats followed in the early part of this century (pictured here on arrival to Ellis Island), and you can see those other ones over here [...] I’m delighted to announce the winner of the Twilight tee give-away — KayeCee Spain, who prefers vampires over werewolves. Congrats! And do you know what else today is? It’s Bastille Day! The meerkat reminded me. Allons, Meerkats de la Patria! Or should that [...] Independence Day has come and gone, but let us all acknowledge and ponder the patriotism of the Meerkat. Alas, the Meerkat did not celebrate safely. I don’t know what time the Meerkat came home from his meerkat merriment, but this is how we found him in the morning: Clearly we’re going to have to have [...] Lilly was dark-eyed, vivacious and winsome but she couldn’t get a date. The 3 year-old meerkat living in at Twinlakes Park in Melton Mowbray, UK, was lonely after an arranged marriage fell through. The BBC reports that staff at Twinlakes decided to set up a meerkat dating website for Lilly, and soon a suitor was found, described [...] [...] Yes, Virgina, there is a Christmas Meekrat. As a matter of a fact, I also read of a Chanuka Meerkat recently, when Treasure, an adorable knitted meerkat of NiftyKnits, traveled to Jerusalem to spend Chanuka with Israeli bead artist Hadas of Springcolors. The Christmas Meerkat, on the other hand, is closer to home, and was my questionably [...] It’s been way too long since I brought you another meerkat sighting. Yes, apparently even the national Geograohic is cutting back. Mucho thanks to photographer Brian of Roses That Last for hooking us up with this photo of his fellow-photographer meerkat. Um, Brian’s, I mean, not [...] Apparently I have to give meerkats their own blog category., as meerkats have been coming at me from different directions.
