Not everyone who comes to the Rotem Gear shop knows that I am also a graphic designer beyond t-shirts and artisan scarves. In fact, I have done freelance design work for universities and colleges, governments, media companies, architecture studios, and have the pleasure these days of doing ad design for the Edible Communities network of local food magazines.
And yes, this is a blatantly commercial blog post!
But it’s also something I’m excited about.
Anyway, with so many balls in the air, I neglected my portfolio website terribly since initially putting it up in 2002. Yes, 2002!!!!
However, that’s all over and I’ve finally given it the makeover it deserves.
I hope you’ll come peruse the slide show, see some of my latest work and what my wonderful clients say. And of course, feel free to refer me!

The portfolio website looks great – nice use/combination of html and flash! I like how designers haven’t given up on flash… where so many corporate clients want to stay away from it!!
My corporate design website was last updated in 2007… so I thought I was long over due in doing updates! You take the cake!
Thank you! I had added a small flash gallery like this one but really the whole thing needed an overhaul from scratch. I needed to keep it simple, though.
Personally, I am glad corporations are starting to understand the downside of Flash. I think it’s often misused where it takes the place of good SE-friendly text. It can be a marketer’s worst enemy. But for easy-to-scan portfolios, for tutorials and interactive applications it can be a great addition. The problem is when people use it for everything from the ground up.
BTW where is your portfolio? Would like to see it! Or will I have to wait?
I imagine you can understand my reluctance to share the link
Some website examples in the portfolio are no longer live online, but if you can ignore the broken links (and other missing sections), here it is: http://www.chq.com.au
Great work, Jean. I’m glad your showcasing this work!
Thank you, Vanessa!
