Looking utterly bubblicious in a Rotem Gear “Got Boba?” t-shirt, the Grand Mistress of Textile Fetish, Jennifer Ramos, recently blogged her craving for bubble tea.
Of course we are pleased as punch, er… make that taro-flavored boba tea, that Jennifer is enjoying the shirt and makes it look so good. But there’s more to the story, and it’s about her home-based business.
Based in Austin, Texas, Jennifer (and Textile Fetish) sells one-of-a-kind, handmade items, made mostly from reclaimed and recycled materials. The fabric-obsessed Jennifer gives these materials new life in the form of colorful and fun bags, children’s apparel, aprons, accessories for crafters and other sundry items, all bright and breezy.

We have recently snapped up a few items there ourselves — checkbook covers and card holders in fabrics that range from retro tattoo prints to op-art, aloha and Japanese-inspired, all fun! And if you are in the market for a gift for a little one, we urge you to check out the children’s mod and patchwork tops, bottoms and dresses. (At right, Cheer Up Tote from Textile Fetish.)

We are excited to announce the addition of plus-sized tees to the Rotem Gear line. We starting out with four styles: white scoopneck, white v-neck, black scoopneck and black v-neck. Shirts are a soft, comfy 5.5 ounce combed ring-spun cotton, and are side-seamed for a figure-flattering countour.

We are busy adding these new tops to our most popular lines so keep coming back to check. To see all the plus-sized tees available right now click here.
For those who prefer more coverage with a longer style might want to check out our unisex tees, which continue to be super popular. They come in a wide range of awesome colors — from deep colors like navy, charcoal, cardinal red, and olive green, to bright blue and true red, and light blue, and natural.
As always, if there is a design you have your eye on but are not finding it on a plus-sized t-shirt, let us know and we’ll hook you up.

Our feathered friends at Rare Bird Finds have come up with a list of one hundred goodies that were not only cool but also “cheap! cheap!” at $10 bucks or less.
Our faves: The Dash, Pinch, Smidgen Measuring Spoons, the Vietnamese juice glasses, the Dachshund corn holders, the Soapsicle (we’ve blogged Soapsicles in the past), and the retro dish towels. But really, there are so many awesome finds here that it’s hard to choose.

While you’re over there do check out the Rare Birds’ other finds as well!

Israel has recalled its ambassador to El Salvador after he was found drunk and naked apart from bondage gear.
Reports say he was able to identify himself to police only after a rubber ball had been removed from his mouth.
Full story here
We think he deserves one of these. And a spanking.

Props to JewSchool.

A frog, a butterfly and beautiful kanji to celebrate spring…
Last year we celebrated summer with a summer haiku design (see our model at right.)Â Featuring
wispy dragonflies (usually a summer motif in Japanese literature) and calligraphy-style writing in Japanese, the design quotes haiku poet Issa:
The dragonfly! … Distant mountains reflected in his eyes.
Since haiku is so essenially seasonal, we will be issuing a new haiku design for each season. To celebrate the coming of spring, we are delighted to introduce our newest. It quotes what is perhaps the most widely known haiku by celebrated Japanese haiku master Basho:
An old pond … A frog jumps in! Splash!
And indeed, our frog is waiting for the right moment. Perhaps a second later he goes after the butterfly and then — plop!
Our lovely new design is available on fashion t-shirts, art tiles, mugs, baby togs, and makes a gorgeous pillow set!

Of course you can see more Asian t-shirts and Asian inspired gifts at Rotem Gear.
