Our Cupcake Duds in Just My Cup of Tea

February 18th, 2006

Just My Cup of Tea, a fashion blog from NY, just featured some of our cupcake apparel. Even though we had a heads up , it was exciting to see, auspiciously sandwiched between posts about Kate Spade Spring 2006 line and the revival of Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park, a Rotem Gear cupcake onesie and bib, child’s jersey and junior zip hoody.

Happily, Just My Cup of Tea also has many, many features on all things cupcake. :-)

Ethiopian Jewish Stylin’s

February 8th, 2006

Always on the look-out for Jewish-themed shirts that veer from the Borsht Belt, I was pleased to find this Ethiopian Jewish tee from Bellmar:
Hamsa White T-Shirt
Ethiopian Hamsa T-Shirt

“Using the Global Village as the playground for flavor, Bellmar designs are created by the influences of the Williamsburg Hipsters of Brooklyn, Punks of the Lower Eastside, and the Jewish Ethiopians of Queens and Israel. Bellmar is a company that inspires a style for understanding and peace.”

Israeli Yakuza Wins Prize

February 1st, 2006

The winner of the Interior Innovation award at IMM (international Furniture Fair) Cologne sort of brings together several areas that grab my attention. Two Israeli designers, Naama Steinbock and Idan Friedmann from Reddish Studio, won the award for their table called Yakuza.

Using inkjet technology, they printed tattoo-like designs onto this table.
