Mega Holiday Sale! Now Extended

December 28th, 2005

Edit: The sale is now extended through Jan 9!!
*****************************************
Just imagine this scene … you’ve woken up on Jan 1. Maybe you went out the night before and partied hearty in uncomfortable clothes and sticky hair product, or maybe you stayed in and watched a bunch of NetFlix choices while finishing up the eggnog. But there’s something about getting up on January 1 that begs for warm, soft, comfy clothes while you watch the Rose Parade/Bowl and eat your menudo or ozoni.

With that in mind, we are ringing in the new year with a sale on cozy sweats, comforting hoodies and stylish but fleecy zip-ups. (Lets face it, they are great for any time of year!)

We’re also offering savings on cards and keepsake ornaments.

From December 28 - January 9, get …

* $5 off ALL Sweatshirts and Hoodies (includes Tracksuits, Kids’ Sweatshirts, Raglan Hoodies, and Jr Hoodies) — use Coupon Code: BIG5

* $4 off Greeting Cards — use Coupon Code: BIG4

* $2 off Ornaments / Keepsakes — use Coupon Code: BIG2

Is it Big Enough to Pack a Power Lunch?

December 23rd, 2005

If you are find that it can hard to be both environmentally and fashion conscious, keep the faith, because the solar-powered handbag is here.

Joe Hynek, a doctoral student in mechanical engineering at Iowa State University, designed the “Solarjo Power Purse” during a handbag competition in an experimental garment design class.

The black, rectangular purse, which is covered in laminated solar panels, is capable of powering any small device that uses an USB port, sucha as cell phones, personal digital assistants, MP3 players and small cameras.

The Solarjo Solar Powered Purse
The Power Purse is not yet available for purchase, but Hynek wants to eventually market it to environmentally conscious consumers, and hopes to keep the retail price under $300.

(Props to the Hippy Shopper and The Raw Feed.)

However, don’t put aside that less chic solar-powered backpack just yet.
